We homesteaders are known for networking-- to share experiences, seek advice, buy, sell and trade stuff, and even help each other out on the homestead.
Jackie Wall is an experienced homesteader who quickly found that gardening and raising one's own food in the mountains was going to be a challenge. (On that 85 acres of rich creek bottom land in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky she could almost just toss the seeds on the ground and watch the vegetables grow into a gorgeous harvest.)
But here, among all the mountainside red clay and rocks she realized she needed advice. She actively sought other homesteaders to learn from their successes and failures. All that information has been invaluable.
So she hatched the idea of Blue Ridge Homesteaders, a group of like-minded people to share their experiences of living on the land.
We hope you'll join our group and lend your knowledge and experience and benefit from our group's collective experience.
